Engine and Transmission Flush, Why Do We Use It?

This image shows the internal parts of and engine that has roughly 189,000 miles on it. Amsoil Engine and Transmission Flush was used once at 133,000 miles to remove sludge and deposits. Since then Amsoil Signature Series 5w-20 engine oil was used to keep this engine clean. Look closely and you will see that these parts are as clean as they would be when this engine was brand new!

Using Amsoil synthetic motor oil has great benefits such as longer oil change intervals, better filtering, and reduced engine wear. Here we want to feature one of their most important products, Amsoil Engine and Transmission Flush. This is a product we use on the very first oil change or transmission fluid change with Amsoil products (excluding transmissions that don’t have serviceable filters.)

What does the Amsoil Engine and Transmission Flush do? In short, the flush prepares your engine and transmission for the higher detergent levels Amsoil synthetic engine oil contains. If you’re like me and like all the nitty gritty details, here’s some more information!

Over time, engines and transmissions gather deposits that cause reduced performance (This is why we change fluids in the first place!) Luckily, Amsoil has a high level of detergent that helps keep your engine clean of sludge and gunk that is created in the combustion process. However, we need to prepare your engine first, and that’s where Amsoil Engine and Transmission Flush comes in! It cleans the deposits and sludge, so the oil doesn’t have to. Keep in mind, this is only done on the first oil change, after that, the Amsoil Signature Series full synthetic oil will maintain the cleanliness of your engine or transmission.

In gasoline and diesel engines it helps:

  • Minimize blow by and reduce emissions.
  • Promotes lower operating temperatures through sludge removal.
  • Removes engine deposits.
  • And prepares it for the Amsoil that has detergent to help keep it clean from then on.

In transmissions it helps:

  • Clean deposits in oil cooler and ports
  • Unclog fluid passages
  • And helps with smoother operation and transmission longevity.

When you hire Rogers Mobile Lube & Tire to service your fleet, we will always use Amsoil Engine and Transmission Flush when it is appropriate. In fact, when we use it at the initial oil change, we won’t even charge you for the product, it is on us!
