Will You Install My Oil?
A couple of weeks ago we published a blog entitled “Amsoil Synthetic Engine Oil- The Only Oil We Use.” In that post we discuss why we are huge fans of Amsoil Synthetic lubricants and why, as a rule, we refuse to use other brands of oil.
This week we will discuss what happens when someone calls us, having their own brand of oil that they want us to install for them. This kind of thing does not happen often, but I want to talk about how we, as a mobile oil change company, handle this type of situation when it does.
Specifications and Applications
As noted in our previous post, we only use Amsoil Synthetic lubricants. We are very educated in Amsoil products and the specific applications that each lubricant is designed for. In our business, it is vital that we know which fluid should be used in any given situation. All lubricants have specific uses and specifications, and if they are used in incorrect applications, they can be harmful to a vehicle. We know Amsoil, we do not know other brands. This is the big reason we do not use other products. If we are not educated in a specific product line, we will not use the product. We are not angry with other oils and lubricants necessarily, but, because we cannot be sure that the product someone has purchased for us to use is the one correct their vehicle, so, we will not use it.
Preparedness
Another reason we do not install products that a prospective client wants to provide is that there is always a possibility that the product they have is not the correct one for their vehicle. Imagine things from our perspective. We are a mobile oil change company, we drive to the customer’s location only to find out that they did not purchase enough oil, or the filter that they purchased is not the correct one. This is a big problem for us to try and overcome. It is best if we show up to the job prepared, with products we know and trust, in proper quantities.
This is just one more way in which we serve our clients better.
